Un Limoncello per la Ricerca - Limoncello For research

Siamo Serena e Rosanna, gestori dell’Osteria del Cavaliere. 

Il presente che vedete- questa “casa” piena di profumi, di volti familiari e di persone che si chiamano per nome- è il risultato di una storia. E se c’è un narratore che ne ha tessuto le fila, quelle non siamo noi: è Pasquale, nostro padre e marito. Il sognatore magico che ha reso questo posto ciò che è oggi!

A dieci anni dalla sua scomparsa sentiamo il desiderio di condividere e celebrare il suo ricordo con tutti voi, i nostri clienti… o meglio: i suoi amici! Perché, anche se non avete avuto modo di conoscerlo, noi ne siamo certe: sareste stati amici di Pasquale! Come chiunque, del resto, avesse varcato quella porta…

Per ricordarlo abbiamo scelto il modo che più gli sarebbe piaciuto: senza troppi fronzoli o sentimentalismi, ma un sorriso, un brindisi e un gesto di vera fratellanza!

Papà ci ha lasciati troppo presto a causa di una malattia rara: l’Amiloidosi, nella sua forma AL, che ha colpito in modo particolare il suo cuore. È conosciuta anche come “la malattia del cuore di pietra”, perché le proteine anomale si depositano nei tessuti molli – nel suo caso nel cuore – rendendoli sempre più rigidi, fino quasi a pietrificarli.

Per questo abbiamo scelto di sostenere A.AM.I. - Associazione Amiloidosi Italiana, che si dedica alla ricerca, alla diagnosi precoce, all’informazione e al supporto di pazienti e famiglie.

Nasce così l’iniziativa “Un Limoncello per la Ricerca”.

Inoltre, da questo mese, per ogni Limoncello gustato in osteria, una parte del ricavato sarà devoluta, a fine anno, a sostegno della ricerca!

Il nostro scopo è quello di trasformare il ricordo di Pasquale- che esiste a prescindere, in ogni piatto, ricetta, su ogni singola parete dell'Osteria- in un gesto concreto, di speranza, di umanità, di forza! Contribuendo all’informazione e alla sensibilizzazione che potrebbe essere utile, chissà, anche nel nostro piccolo! E allora… quando è il momento migliore per fare del bene, se non proprio quando si sta bene?! 

Brindiamo insieme alla vita, alla ricerca e al coraggio di chi combatte!

We are Serena and Rosanna, the hosts of Osteria del Cavaliere.    What you see today – this “home” filled with aromas, familiar faces, and people who call each other by name – is the result of a story.   And if there’s a narrator who has woven its threads, that narrator isn’t us: it’s Pasquale, our father and husband. The magical dreamer who made this place what it is today.    Ten years after his passing, we feel the desire to share and celebrate his memory with all of you – our guests… or rather, his friends! Because even if you never had the chance to meet him, we’re sure of one thing: you would have been friends with Pasquale. Just like anyone else who ever walked through this door.    

To honor his memory, we chose a way that he would have loved: nothing too fancy or sentimental, just a smile, a toast, and a true gesture of friendship.    

Our dad left us too soon because of a rare illness: Amyloidosis, in its AL form, which mainly affected his heart. It’s also known as “the stone heart disease,” because abnormal proteins deposit themselves in soft tissues – in his case, the heart – making them increasingly stiff, until they almost turn to stone.

That is why we’ve decided to support A.AM.I. – Associazione Amiloidosi Italiana, which is dedicated to research, early diagnosis, information, and support for patients and their families.    

This is how our initiative “A Limoncello for Research” was born.

And starting this month, for every limoncello enjoyed in our Osteria, a portion of the proceeds will be donated – at the end of the year – to support research.

Our intention is to transform Pasquale’s memory – which lives on regardless, in every dish, every recipe, and every wall of this Osteria – into a concrete act of hope, humanity, and strength. By contributing, in our own small way, to awareness and information that might just help others one day.

After all… when is the best time to do something good, if not when you are feeling good yourself?
